Six Feet Up Facilitates IEEE IT Society's Online Collaboration Efforts

September 4, 2012

IEEE's Information Theory Society (ITSOC), which has been relying on the Plone CMS to coordinate their community efforts, has asked Six Feet Up to create a custom mailer form for their Plone-powered website. The goal is to facilitate email-based collaboration inside the ITSOC community and simplify the management of mailing lists.

Two options are now available for logged-in members when they want to email particular communities, such as a specific committee or the board of governors. Members can either click a button to open up a form and email all members through the web or click another button to use their email software. In this latter case, users' email application opens up with the pre-populated email addresses of all of the specific community members.

With this new feature, the various ITSOC groups can easily manage their mailing lists without the help of a systems administrator.

ITSOC picked Six Feet Up for their expertise in enhancing CMS' and in tailoring sophisticated Plone sites to benefit their organization.
