Six Feet Up CTO displays FLASH Project at SciPy 2022

July 20, 2022

Calvin Hendryx-Parker, Six Feet Up’s CTO and AWS Community Hero, shared a poster about one of the company’s IMPACTFUL projects — where the team developed an app to predict lightning strikes before they occur using Django and AWS — at SciPy 2022.

The poster, created by Barry Coombs of Tech Doodles, summarizes the project highlighting the challenges, technologies and lessons learned. Check out the high-res poster here.

Watch this video from Python Web Conference 2022 where Calvin and Will Howard, Lead Software Engineer at FLASH, discuss how to take an algorithm and idea from a Jupyter Notebook to production ready and cloud native.
