New developer tools and a few tips and tricks were shared when Calvin Hendryx-Parker, Six Feet Up CTO and AWS Community Hero, once again joined Michael Kennedy and Brian Okken on the Python Bytes Podcast, Episode #272: The tools episode.

In this episode, Calvin and the hosts discussed:

  • a range of developer tools including Kitty, a cross-platform, GPU-based terminal written in Python that allows you to get more performance out of your system. You can even add Python plugins called “kittens” with a range of features like viewing high-definition graphics right in the terminal;
  • how to work with mocks while avoiding potential pitfalls; and
  • some upcoming events, such as the release of Brian’s ebook “Python Testing with pytest, Second Edition” and the 2022 Python Web Conference being held March 21-25, 2022.
