IndyPy — Indiana’s largest Python meetup founded in 2007 by Six Feet Up CTO and AWS Community Hero, Calvin Hendryx-Parker — hosted a joint livestream event with the Chicago Python (ChiPy) User Group for their July 2021 Meetup.
The event’s speakers, Andrew Knight of PrecisionLender and Calvin Hendryx-Parker of Six Feet Up, shared Python best practices and practical tips for Pythonistas of all levels.
Andrew’s talk, “Managing the Test Data Nightmare,” highlighted how to become a better test engineer. Specifically, Andrew addressed:
- data prep strategies,
- factors to consider when preparing data, and
- when to choose a simple vs. complex test environment.
Calvin discussed better system setups in his talk, “Bootstrapping your Local Python Environment.” Specifically, Calvin’s talk featured:
- the importance of abiding by the Zen of Python,
