AWS Well-Architected Featured at IndyAWS
The April 2022 edition of IndyAWS — Indiana’s fastest-growing cloud meetup founded in 2017 by Six Feet Up CTO and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Hero Calvin Hendryx-Parker — featured guest Dave Crumbacher. Dave, a Solutions Architect for Amazon Web Services, gave an overview of Well-Architected, AWS’ cloud architecture improvement application.
“There’s always something to improve,” Dave said. “That’s the goal here — to give you a path.”
Introduced in 2012, the Well-Architected framework is designed to help find areas for improvement for could architecture designs by measuring those designs against established best practices using a set of questions, or “lenses,” that target key design pillars.
In his presentation, Dave goes over:
- common use cases for Well-Architected;
- Well-Architected’s phases of review and different review formats used in the real world; and
- a demonstration of the application — from defining workloads to applying lenses and reviewing the results.
