The February 2022 edition of IndyAWS — Indiana’s fastest growing cloud meetup founded in 2017 by Six Feet Up CTO and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Hero Calvin Hendryx-Parker — featured guest Nathan Hiscock. Hiscock is the Client Innovation Director at CleanSlate Technology Group, and spoke at IndyAWS about his experience migrating customers to the cloud and why more business should make the jump.

When he’s not climbing 100-foot radio towers as part of his amateur radio hobby, Nathan is helping businesses find efficiencies and improve operational stability by moving to the cloud. While some may look at migrating to the cloud as a simple “lift and shift” move to save money, Nathan discusses why many businesses forget about money altogether when they realize the operational efficiencies and security that can come with working from the cloud. Even more than that, he says it allows companies to do things they never thought possible.

For example, Nathan says businesses that switch to the cloud could experience:

• a 31% cost savings over comparable infrastructure,
• a 62% more efficient IT infrastructure staff; and
• a 75% increase in agility when delivering new features.

“We’re in this age of unprecedented change, and sometimes for the businesses we serve it’s more about getting there first and being the fastest,” Nathan says. “Now, with the cloud, you’re only limited by your imagination.”
