Six Feet Up to Use RDF for a Flexible Data Architecture

July 24, 2007

Six Feet Up will be using the Semantic Web Standard RDF (Resource Description Framework) to rearchitecture the archive data of the RosettaProject, a non-profit organization striving to build a web-based repository of all human languages. The project aims at removing any hard-coded organization of the data and replace it with a flexible flat structure that can follow multiple arbitrary organizational views. This will allow linguists to go beyond the traditional genetic and geographic ways of grouping languages and easily organize data in new categories.
