Six Feet Up is hiring a Field CTO to grow pipeline and win implementations by combining credible technical leadership with high-output public advocacy. You’ll be out in the market (on stages, podcasts, webinars, and LinkedIn) building trust, shaping opportunities, and guiding prospects through discovery and solution direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own revenue outcomes (quota-carrying): source opportunities, set meetings, and help win implementations.
  • Lead market-facing technical advocacy: 1 talk/podcast/webinar per month and weekly short-form LinkedIn videos (with marketing support).
  • Run high-quality discovery support: translate prospect needs into a discovery plan, risks/assumptions, and clear next steps; partner with service delivery during discovery.
  • Advise on solution architecture: shape technical approaches and explain tradeoffs crisply to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Own partner relationships: build, maintain, and activate partnerships; participate in annual budget planning related to partnerships/field activity.

What Success Looks Like (12 Months)

  • Pipeline influence: you’ve sourced opportunities, set and held meetings, and influenced implementations won.
  • Content output: consistent monthly appearances (talk/podcast/webinar), meaningful published content, and measurable growth in reach/engagement.

Who You’ll Work With

  • Internal: CEO, CTO, delivery leads, engineering leadership, marketing, partnerships, sales.
  • External: prospects, clients, community leaders, conference organizers, podcast hosts, partners, technical influencers.

Required Experience

  • Prior consulting experience in a senior/principal/architect role
  • Expertise in Python and various Cloud Native technologies
  • Strong public speaking and technical storytelling
  • Comfortable in ambiguous pre-sales conversations
  • Ability to shape a technical approach and explain tradeoffs clearly
  • Consulting mindset:
    • Runs structured discovery, captures assumptions/risks, proposes options
    • Writes crisp recaps, aligns stakeholders, protects scope
    • Balances credibility with curiosity; avoids premature solutioning

  • Product thinking, GTM collaboration, partner ecosystem experience
  • Infra/DevOps/cloud architecture exposure

Travel + Working Model

  • Fully remote (work from home in the US)
  • Travel: 6–10 trips/year (USA only)
