Agenda:

  • 7 - 7:15 p.m.: Announcements and Introductions
  • 7:15 - 8:30 p.m.: "Generating Art using Python and Machine Learning" by Srishti Yadav, a machine learning engineer
    • The field of machine learning has progressed way more rapidly in past years than we anticipated. This rapid change also brought with itself users and developers trying to explore its possibilities in creative fields. One such field is art and what in the world of machine learning is now called Generative Art (not to be confused with deepfakes). In this talk we will cover what is generative art, how this change came through, what are some of the latest developments happening in this field and how you can be a part of this field. Towards the end, we will also dip our toes in this space ourselves when we will do a small demo with python and ML and generate some art ourselves. It might not be the best art you have seen, but art can be imaginative and we will make it fun.
  • 8:30 - 8:45 p.m.: Door Prizes
  • 8:45 - 9 p.m.: Networking and General Discussion

About Srishti Yadav:
Srishti is a machine learning engineer working solving problems in local chain AgTech. She received her Masters from Canada on a full research scholarship. She has an extensive experience in machine learning space working with all sorts of imagery — satellite, plants, medical data, bird data, human data and drone imagery. As a strong proponent of women in STEM and STEM as a field in general, she runs developer communities in Vancouver (Vancouver Datajam, Women in Machine Learning and Data Science) and has chaired prominent workshops in field of computer vision research. Though she loves to talk about data, she is equally happy to talk about painting and art forms. One of her favorite art piece is Garden of Death by Hugo Simberg.

Organized by Six Feet Up, IndyPy wouldn’t be possible without our awesome sponsors including JetBrains, JFrog and Reify Health. If you are interested in sponsoring IndyPy, please send an email to events@sixfeetup.com.

Guests are more than welcome to attend tonight’s meetup, but please have each person RSVP on their own MeetingPlace.io account.
