A default setup of Plone serves all the objects in a site everytime a request is made. This is very resource-intensive and therefore translates into a site with poor response time should the site experience a heavy load of traffic.

World Science Festival

Launched early April 2008, the site was deployed by Six Feet Up onto their own servers using a clustered Zope application server with Pound acting as the load balancer. Six Feet Up set up Nginx to do the rewriting while Squid has been handling the reverse HTTP acceleration.

In 2006, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) launched a new website for their magazine "The American", a new bimonthly business and economics magazine.

The site was deployed by Six Feet Up who set up Squid as an HTTP accelerator and installed Pound to balance the load across a Zope ZEO cluster. On the third day after its launch, the site enjoyed close to 8 GB of traffic and remained quick and stable.
