Project Outline:
In addition to a new look and feel, California-based Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZHNE) was looking for a solution to reduce maintenance, increase content consistency across the site and expand services provided to their customers through the deployment of a Content Management System (CMS).
Six Feet Up adapted the original layouts based on usability standards and implemented a fully content-managed website with automatic syndication of featured products and solutions, course information and news items.
In order to allow news items to contain dynamic products references, Six Feet Up extended the ATNewsItem (a part of ATContentTypes). The ATDocument also had to be extended to enable the automatic syndication of documents to the home page and related products pages.
Overall, this Plone 2.0 website was deployed statically to take advantage of existing infrastructure and provide an efficient and fast access to the information. Six Feet Up achieved this by enhancing the CMFDeployment tool.
